George V Mount Kenya Definitive with White Bar Over Image
The stamp on the right has a white bar between the image and the
frame as a result of the black ink image being slightly misplaced.
The King George V pictorial definitives were issued on May 1, 1935. Gibbons Stamp Monthly notes that "Shifts on two colour letterpress or recess-printed stamps of the 1930s to 1960s are fairly common, indeed, the central vignette of many such stamps (the second colour) had background shading that faded off at the edges in order to conceal any slight misalignment between centre and frame."
