Tannu Touva (Tuva)

Wheel of Enlightenment Definitive Issue of 1926

Wheel of Enlightenment Definitive Issue of 1926
Tannu Tuva's first definitive issue was only inscribed in Mongol.

Until 1926, control of Tuva was disputed between Russia and China. After a mixed claims commission awarded control to Russia, this Autonomous Region of the Soviet Union issued its first stamps. Prior to this time, and after 1944 Russian or Soviet stamps were used.
