Remaindered Issue Overprinted "Cancelled"
Remaindered definitive with wing margin overprinted cancelled
In 1878 Mauritius changed from sterling currency to cents and rupees. Remainders of stamps in denominations were overprinted "cancelled" and made available in philatelic markets. They vary in value from approximately the same as used copies to up to 65% of the value of the unused stamp depending on the denomination.
