Depicting the Family of Prince Henri

Maximum Card Depicting Prince Henri

L.N. Williams defines a maximum card as a pictorial postcard, "pre-dating or reasonably contemporary with but not produced specifically for the purpose, duplicating the design of a stamp, with the stamp affixed to the pictorial side of the card and cancelled with a postal marking relating as closely as possible to the picture" (22). Although this card with its first day cancellation was specifically produced for this purpose, Williams notes "some latitude has been tolerated" in recent times with the growing popularity of the cards.

Maximum Cards Depicting Prince Henri's Wife and Children
