The stamps depicted above are from the Italian "Democracy" Definitive issue of 1945-1947. They are overprinted with a wreath embracing what appears to be the feather helmet of Italian army's elite Bersaglieri superimposed on what appears to be the arms of Trieste. This is thought to be a private overprint in honour of the Bersaglieri. If the coat of arms has been correctly identified, it may tie the overprint to the 9th Bersaglieri Regiment, part of the 101st Motorised Division Trieste. An enlargement of the overprint as well as the headgear of the Bersaglieri and the coat of arms of Trieste are pictured below. The overprint appears to be the feather helmet of Italian army's elite Bersaglieri superimposed on what appears to be the arms of Trieste.
